Helper Roles and Responsibilities

Arrivals/Car Parking

Main Venue

Direct people to

  • drop off only at the main venue

  • register at the arrivals gazebo/purchase a wrist band

  • park at Manor Farm

 

NO GLASS BOTTLES permitted on site

DO NOT CAMP in the blue emergency access lanes

Drop gear at pitch and RETURN TROLLEY immediately for others to use

 

CAMPER VANS AND CARAVANS

  • Go to arrivals gazebo to get a permit to display in their window

  • Walk in front of the campervan/caravan and take them to their parking bay

  • Camper vans/caravans can only park in the bays allocated

  • ONLY vehicles that are converted to camper vans are permitted, no sleeping in cars/normal vans

Manor Farm Parking

  • Wear a high vis vest, take a torch and a walkie talkie.

  • Make sure you are on the WhatsApp group(s)

  • Guide people to park sensibly

  • Advise NO GLASS BOTTLES on main site

Facilities

Helping Phil with:

  • Erecting and then resurrecting nets and any court issues

  • Maintaining the bins

  • Setting up marquee and all in it

  • Setting up gazebos and maintenance

 

 

General helpfulness 

  • Emptying full bins

  • Picking up litter (gloves in tournament office)

  • Checking toilets/showers are clean and functioning

  • End of Sunday – pack away and clean up of site including full sweep of rugby pitches for metal objects

  • Monday – van unload with Phil

Office

Helping Kate however is needed - check with Kate for instructions

Court Manager/Runner 

You will be reporting to Kate and be office based, with a requirement to go out in the playing field.

 

It is also to make sure that there are games going on at all times or people looking willing to play.  Due to the nature of our ‘set-based’ games, gaps between games waiting for people to turn up can result in games going on until later into the evening. So main jobs are:

 

Saturday

  • Be a runner for the office

  • Make sure games are happening on all courts

  • Always communicate with the office

  • Keep courts clean and free of litter, or any trip hazards

  • Be a visible presence communicate with players

  • After 3pm collect in the court folders and score boards

  • Liaise with Kate to empty and prep the folders for Sunday

  • Be available to assist in the office as necessary

 

Sunday

  • As Saturday with the addition of…

  • After 3pm collect in scoreboards, folders and court numbers that are finished with (CHECK with Kate)

  • Empty the folders and put away the boards, pegs, court numbers

 

Catering

Helping Ben prep our food and keep the kitchen tidy

Please clean up and wash up after yourself

Speak to Mich or Steve about what is needed if you are helping on the Merch stand
